Brandon Duvall will be taking over the duties of the 16N Head Coach this season.  For the past several seasons Duvall has been an assistant coach with the 18N Team.

In 2009, Brandon Duvall entered his second year with the NSU volleyball program. Duvall was named assistant coach in July 2009 after serving as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2008 season. His responsibilities will include recruiting, film exchange, scheduling, team travel, and coordination of team practices and training sessions. 

Previously, Duvall was an assistant at Virginia Wesleyan College in 2006 where he helped the women’s team to a 19-9 overall record and a third-place finish in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament. Prior to VWC, Duvall was the assistant boys volleyball coach at Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake, Va. from 2003-2006. He helped the Wildcats to the 2004 and 2005 Southeastern District regular-season titles. Duvall also had assisting stints with the girls teams at Ocean Lakes High School (1998) and Tallwood High School (2002), and served as the girls head coach at Ocean Lakes in 1999.

Duvall has also worked with the Coastal Virginia Volleyball Club as an assistant under Great Bridge boys coach Dave Albaugh. Duvall has been the assistant for the nationally ranked girls’ 18-and-under team since 2003 and was the head coach of the 15-and-under girls team from 2006-2007. As an assistant, Duvall handles the travel arrangements, conducts practices and does individual skills work with members of the 18-and-under team. He worked with the Tidewater Volleyball Club from 2001-2003, assisting with the girls 18-and-under team and leading the 15-and-under team.

Duvall graduated from Old Dominion University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. While at ODU, he was the defensive specialist on the club team. Duvall continues to play in several indoor and outdoor competitions and participates in both men’s and co-ed matches at the open level.
