Yes and no. AAU, JVDA & USAV have established a date range in which a player's birthdate must fall to be eligibile for that age group. However, if an athlete is capable of playing with an older age group, Coastal may allow it depending on several factors: ability, maturity, team size, and/or need. The final decision will be left to the coordinators and/or the director and again will be based on what is best for the athlete. The current ruling date established to determine a players playing age is September 1 of the current year (if you are still 14 on September 1 you may play any age group from 14&under and up. If you are 15 on September 1, you may not play any age group younger than 15&under.
